Panbio ™ COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test

The Panbio ™ COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test from Abbott is a CE-certified rapid test for laypeople, with which an acute SARS-CoV-2 infection can be detected quickly and easily. Thanks to the high sensitivity and specificity, the antigen test delivers a reliable test result. All materials required for the test execution ( except for a timer ) are included in the scope of delivery. The extraction solution is packed in 10 individual ampoules, to safely rule out one of the most common sources of error when performing COVID-19 antigen tests. 

The gentle sampling in the front nose area is particularly pleasant and can be carried out very easily independently by the user using the operating instructions. Adverse reflexes, such as sneezing or coughing, are significantly reduced compared to nasopharyngeal sampling. 

Warning: In children under 14 years of age, the test should be carried out with the help of adults.

Implementation of the Panbio ™ COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test

The extraction tube is first prepared for test preparation. To this the contents of the small ampoule with buffer solution are completely filled into the extraction tube and then set the tube in the appropriate holder on the sample tray. 
 

Then the sterile swab is removed from the packaging and the nose swab is carried out according to the package leaflet. The swab with the sample material is immersed in the buffer solution in the extraction tube and stirred at least 5 times and then expressed. The swab remains in the extraction tube - the upper part of the stem can be easily broken off. The extraction tube is closed and also placed in the sample tray.
 

The test cassette is then unpacked and 5 drops of the finished sample solution dripped into the sample deepening of the test cassette. The result can be read after 15 minutes.
