2-day Audiometry Competency Course
We have developed a range of accredited occupational audiometry screening courses focused specifically for occupational health and primary care professionals.
Our occupational audiometry courses are based on the recommended syllabus by the British Society of Audiology (BSA), and have been further developed with the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) Control of Noise at Work regulations (2021), together with industry-specific requirements and occupational health specialists.
Two-day competency course
Introducing the principles of a hearing conservation programme in the workplace, the two-day competency course provides the knowledge and practical skills required to be proficient in carrying out screening audiometry, evaluation and categorisation of test results.
One-day refresher course
We also offer a our one-day audiometry refresher course. This is a theory and practical course, designed for occupational health professionals who require a general updating of their skills and knowledge to complete screening audiometry in the workplace to the highest standard. Course content includes:
- Basic acoustics
- Anatomy and physiology
- Physical Agents (noise) Directive
- Factors affecting test accuracy
- Otoscopy
- Techniques of AC audiometry
- Audiogram interpretation
- HSE Categorisation

One-day refresher course
Course venue
Midlands Park Hotel, Jessop St, Maryborough, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 KV20, Ireland
Refreshments and lunch are included on each full day of training. If a reservation is cancelled within 4 weeks of the course date a 50% charge would be held. If a reservation is cancelled within 2 weeks of a course date, no refund would be available.

Payment is made at the reservation stage – your place is only guaranteed once payment is made. If your company will only pay on proforma invoice with a purchase order number, please make sure you submit a purchase order with your reservation.
